Welcoming Michigan is an immigrant integration initiative of the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center. It is a statewide grassroots effort that aims to build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among U.S.-born and foreign-born people who call Michigan home today.
In addition to general information, Michigan (all counties) and Detroit specific resources are available at:
http://www.welcomingmichigan.org/content/resources
The Detroit guide is too large to attach, but the Michigan resource list is accessible below.
They host trainings, give presentations, and support immigrants in many more ways.

to participate; over half of the building will be attending! Hooray! This will be
a day of fellowship, excitement and good cheer hope to see you all there. And I
too, was volunteered for team support!

Other information provided by local resident:
After the cleansing with bleach (preferably), then sprinkle baby powder on mattresses etc, the powder is a guarantee to kill any bed bugs that come in contact with the powder, it destroys their outer shell, disrupts their nervous system and … Turn heat on full blast and leave the house.

“Back when baby boomers were young—and sex, drugs, and rock and roll were at their height—many commentators questioned what this feckless generation of do-nothings boded for the future of the country. Who was going to run the government, engage in commerce, teach the young, provide services? Who was going to do all the work?
Wouldn’t those commentators be surprised. Because the boomers now hitting retirement age are hanging onto their jobs like pit bulls, and sometimes forgetting to retire altogether. In fact, it would be easy to conclude that boomers—those born between 1946 and 1964—are a bunch of workaholics.”
