Elder Abuse media campaign launch

The campaign, “No Excuse for Elder Abuse,” is designed to empower every citizen to report suspected abuse and dissuade would-be perpetrators from taking advantage of our seniors.

The Judith J. Wahlberg Memorial Lecture is a professional training partnership between the Area Agency on Aging 1-B and Wayne State University Institute of Gerontology. The lecture is dedicated to enhancing professional development opportunities for those concerned about services and programs for older adults who are aging in the community. It is a 3CE Conference for Aging Network Professionals.

Registration Info: Cost: Individual Registration: $45 per person. Group Registration: A group discount rate of $40 per person is available for three or more people registering from the same agency or organization. Student Rate: $20 per student

Aging Services Consortium of Detroit  Sept. 5th meeting

Ask Mike Simowski, below, for material related to the Wayne County Senior Millage and the need associated with that proposal from DAAA’s  “Dying Before Their Time” study.  Paul Bridgewater will be presenting on the millage and Katy Graham will be discussing the projects and services at Wayne County Neighborhood Legal Services at our September meeting.

The meeting will be held at 9 am on September 5th at Hannan House, 4750 Woodward, Detroit. We look forward to seeing you there and, if you have colleagues who might also wish to attend, please feel free to bring them along.
