AT&T phone service tips

Want to get some shortcuts for your AT&T phone service?  While planning for my PTO, with Matt subbing, he’ll  check messages for both Laura and myself, from Laura’s phone.  In my online search,  I learned some cool phone functions.  Also,  check out the attached shortcut, for listening to your messages.

AT&T Unified Messaging Functions

Call forwarding: From your phone, dial 72#, and the phone number that will receive the calls, and press #.

To end call forwarding, from your phone, just dial 73#

Checking messages from a different phone: You can access your   AT&T Unified Messaging mailbox from any touch-tone telephone, no matter   where you are, any time of day. You can use your wireless phone, your home   telephone, your office telephone or any pay telephone to access your mailbox.   Depending on where you’re calling from, local, toll or usage charges may   apply.

To access your AT&T Unified Messaging messages using a   phone:

Call your telephone number and dial * once the message begins   playing, and dial your pin number and pound sign.

Q: Some of my callers want to skip my greeting and     record their messages immediately. How can they do this?
A: Tell     your callers to press the # key when they hear your greeting. The greeting     will stop playing, and they’ll hear the record tone.

Urgent Message   Playback Options:

When   turned on, this feature lets you designate which types of urgent messages you   want to hear first upon accessing your mailbox over the telephone. By   choosing one of the message types, that particular message type, if marked   urgent by the sender, will be played ahead of any non-urgent messages.

Large print resources

Pangea did not know of a way to enlarge the print so I can give large print  AASC resources to members.   After some trial and error, I also made my resource list for the co-op in large print, and listed by catagory.  Here is what I eventually figured out…Clearly I am no genius on the computer! :0 )

Click on the resource you want to hand out, then on Print, Preferences, Effects, click on percentage of normal size and change the percentage (I like 125% ), Click on Finishing, Landscape, OK, and finally Print.

Make voting fast, safe and easy!

One way to help members to advocate for themselves to to help them to send in Absent Voter Ballot Applications.  You only need do this once; in red ink, ask them to put them on the permanent list.  Members have appreciated this simple act, to avoid standing in line, not voting because of illness,  possible stressors at check in and in the booth, and  keeping warm and dry!  I have given a guide to absentee voting to members – please email me if you would like me to send it to you, and an application for absent voter ballots.

Home Heating Credit deadline is Sept. 30

Help get extra cash!  Most members applied and received a payment during tax season.   The credit is given because of their renter status during 2011, regardless if they pay for heat.  To apply, use the 2011 Michigan Home Heating Credit Claim form MI-1040CR-7, found online through the Michigan Dept. of Treasury.  Look here for instructions and a chart for the standard credit amount.  I have specific instructions if you send an email to  me (like what lines to skip!)

Group Add in AASC Online

Just a reminder that Group add is a great way to chose a group of members for the same Progress Notes, if they are either participating (active case) or non-participating members.   Also, can be used only for participating member’s to enter group Resident Service Logs for many members who received the same service, and for Cost Savings.  If you enter anything on Group Add, you can only edit these or delete on the Group Add functions.  And that would be better than editing one at a time!

Replacing Bridge Cards

In case a member ever asks for help to replace a worn, cracked Bridge card, it is best to advise them to spend the card down to the last penny, before you help them. It turns out that while a member is waiting for the new card to arrive in the mail, the card is deactivated, as if it was reported stolen. Any amount that was on the card will be carried over to the new card.
